Livestock Management

I stumbled across this a few months ago. I’m hesitant to share on Facebook, because sheep. This may be the answer to why we have a gun violence problem: poor livestock management. Happy livestock don’t shoot each other.

But someone once said, “don’t believe everything you hear, and only half of what you see.” I had to research this video further. There was a comment that identified the author as Stefan Molyneux. The actual author’s account doesn’t appear to be connected, but contains similar alt-right shit.

This is a good opportunity to stress the importance of critical thinking. Evaluate the soundness of your beliefs, and inoculate yourself against all propaganda, not just that of the state. Be informed. Think for yourself and question authority. Apparently this dude is alt-right. I find it unsettling how much of their propaganda I have to consciously fend off, but those are thoughts for my shadow work.

Regardless of the politics of the author, or the person identified in a comment as the author, I find this metaphor to be pretty fitting. This video explains why The Matrix rings true on a deeper level with me, and so I’ve adopted a less insidious version of it.

While we are no doubt owned, and our freedom is most certainly an illusion, I question humanity’s ability to premeditate control like this. This could be likened to the debate between evolution and intelligent design. I think we’re corrupt enough, and our masters have certainly taken advantage of the configuration that has evolved. Maybe they’ve even tilted the board enough to push things further this way - but the smartest among us is still not smart enough to have orchestrated it from scratch. Or maybe that’s a naive perspective.
