StackExchange Friday: Chuck Norris is a color
Excerpts from an entertaining and popular StackOverflow question:
Why does HTML think Chuck Norris is a color?
...and Steven Segal is green
Chuck Norris doesn't conform to web standards. Web standards conform to him. #BADA55
Chucknorris leaves blood-red backgrounds where ever he goes, including websites.
The answer:
It's a holdover from the Netscape days: Missing digits are treated as 0[...]. An incorrect digit is simply interpreted as 0. For example the values #F0F0F0, F0F0F0, F0F0F, #FxFxFx and FxFxFx are all the same.
